Southern University student Caleb Wilson, who joined the college as a junior at the age of 20 passed away unexpectedly in Baton Rouge on February 27, 2025. The Kenner native Caleb Wilson dedicated himself to mechanical engineering at Southern University where he studied yet remained dedicated to music through his trumpet-playing role as a member of the distinguished Human Jukebox Marching Band.

Through his performances as a trumpet player in Southern University's renowned marching band, Wilson displayed his dedication to excellence. His exceptional performance and total commitment established him as an exceptional member whom both students and staff respected. Wilson found a second home in the Human Jukebox Marching Band through which he developed lasting friendships while inspiring many members during performances.

Family members and close friends recognize Wilson as a person who combined his energetic spirit with dedication in all his activities and showed sincere concern for others. Wilson spent his college years dedicated to both academic achievement and musical activities together with his service to the community. His routine university activities were characterized by both cheerful greetings and assistance he offered to others.

The painful outcome of Wilson's death became evident after he took part in an off-campus fraternity ceremony. Authorities are conducting ongoing studies to determine the exact reasons behind his demise following the incident.
