HIAWASSEE, GA – The bodies of 19-year-old twin brothers, Qaadir Malik Lewis and Naazir Rahim Lewis, were discovered on March 8, 2025, at the summit of Bell Mountain in Georgia. The shocking discovery was made by hikers, with authorities later confirming that both brothers had sustained gunshot wounds.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Towns County Sheriff's Office are currently handling the case, initially considering the possibility of a murder-suicide. However, official autopsy results are still pending, leaving many questions unanswered.

Qaadir and Naazir, residents of Lawrenceville, Georgia, were reported missing after failing to board their scheduled flight to Boston on March 7. Their family has strongly refuted the murder-suicide suggestion, highlighting the twins' close bond and lack of any known connection to Bell Mountain. Additionally, relatives noted that the brothers had upcoming travel plans, further casting doubt on the early conclusions drawn by investigators

In a separate but related incident, 42-year-old volunteer firefighter Scott Kerlin was arrested and charged with misdemeanor obstruction after allegedly sharing images from the death scene. While authorities have not linked Kerlin directly to the twins’ deaths, they are investigating his involvement in the handling of sensitive case materials

The grieving family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses and is actively calling for a more thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the twins’ deaths. Supporters have also initiated the "#JusticeForQaadirAndNaazir" movement on social media to raise awareness and demand further scrutiny of the case.

Authorities continue to investigate, urging anyone with information to come forward as the community mourns the tragic loss of the young brothers.
